Have you ever been with that one movie buff friend, who just knows everything about the movie you just went out and seen? They cannot stop talking, while you nod away. This was my experience going out with my friends.

I was the movie buff, asking "what did you think" which is the least interesting question to ask. What if there was a knowledgable moderator, that handled the conversation much better than me?

At the end of 2024 the realtime voice dictation and inference with the LLM models rapidly improved. Realtime API from Open AI made it easy and eventually "cheap" to have a almost zero-lag conversation with a very knowledge moderator.

My experiment took shape of a web-app that let users:

• search a database of movies (using tmdb) enhanced with latest news from Perplexity API
• talk with others at the same time while AI moderates the discussion by asking follow up questions, and cuts longwinded talkers short
• explore each movie talk session in detail to learn about the exact things you liked or disliked
• build personalized profile composed of the relations between different remarks from your and others talk sessions

In short, it's Strava for movies, where you just watch and talk and see your remarks tracked over time, layered with simple social network of what others have said.
