Blank Slate
Writers are scared of no ideas, no thoughts. The blank mind. I think It’s a beautiful opportunity.
With nothing set to sway you in either direction, there’s no right or wrong. You write from an emotion, not a fantasy. Perhaps that’s the sad part if you are a little too factual, too dry the writing will end up just that. Just like the above. Boring. Repetitive. Derivative.
But you can curl up bend cut and twist the paragraph like a paper mache to make something special. I distaste the paper deformities. I guess what I’m saying is to see the best and just roll forward. No great ideas will be spun out here today, but you got your practice in. Run the record another day.
